Collection: Alan Martin Gard

Alan Martin Gard was born in Finsbury Park London in 1935. After discovering his gift for design, he trained as an apprentice jeweller under Crombie's on the corner of Maddox Street and Bond Street after which, he worked with big names such as Andrew Grima, and Hooper Bolton before setting up his own jewellery business in 1964. He built up the workshop to twenty-five people, his designs used texture and gemstones, taking inspiration from nature and organic contemporary design.

Alan Gard has had many successful exhibitions at both Goldsmiths Hall and Design Center London, as well as various exhibitions in America. He has won various prizes in “De Beers engagement ring design contest” and designed all the jewellery and medals for the films Nicholas and Alexandra and Modestie Blaise.
